March Updates

First, and foremost, I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to serve as President of the Palm City Chamber of Commerce.  It is an honor and privilege to serve the business community in this capacity.  I want to thank Missi and Nikki for being the guiding force over this past year, and in anticipation of the year to come.  Without your efforts and dedication to the Palm City Chamber of Commerce, and our community, we would not be where we are today.  I also want to thank Ronnie Kirchman, our Immediate Past President, for his leadership this past year as we all struggled to navigate through shutdowns and restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On February 6th, the Palm City Chamber of Commerce held its annual Installation dinner.  Due to Covid-19 our normal festivities were modified this year, with the event being a little smaller and held outside at the newly renovated Village Club and Preserve venue in Martin Downs Country Club.  The event was a hit and a wonderful starting point for the Chamber 2021/2022 Board of Directors and new Executive Board. Like last year, this year will be challenging but as mentioned in my speech at the event we all will adapt and together as a community we will thrive.

We have an exciting year of events and activities so please continue to monitor your emails and the Palm City Chamber of Commerce website and Facebook page in the weeks and months ahead. I encourage and ask that you stay, or become, involved with the Chamber and let us help you and your business.  In addition to Ribbon Cuttings and Business After Hours, this month the Palm City Chamber of Commerce is having another drive-in movie event.  The event will take place at the Village Club & Preserve on Saturday, March 27th.  If you haven’t attended a drive-in movie event with us previously, it is a wonderful, fun opportunity to have a safe, socially distant evening out under the stars.  On March 31st at the Monarch Country Club we will have our monthly breakfast.  Our speakers for the March breakfast are Noel DelValle from the Martin County Police Athletic League (PAL), sponsored by Recovery Insurance Adjusters, and Dr. John Millay, Superintendent of the Martin County School District, sponsored by Out2News, so please come out and hear what information they have to share.

Remember, we are #YourCommunityChamber and are here for you and your business.  Big or small, the Palm City Chamber of Commerce is a resource for you and your business.  We will all continue to adapt as we navigate 2021, but together, as a community, we will come out of this stronger.

Tyson J. Waters
President, Palm City Chamber of Commerce

January Updates

I am going out with a loud BANG (more like a shotgun blast), especially after our Palm City Chamber of Commerce Clay Shoot at South Florida Shooting Club. My duties as the President of the Palm City Chamber of Commerce are coming to an end at the upcoming 42nd Annual Installation 2021 Black and White Affair.  I will pass the gavel on to our new president, Tyson Waters.  Even though we have all felt the pandemic of Covid-19, time has flown by for me!  I know that the Palm City Chamber will be in great hands with Tyson as their leader.  As I gracefully pass on the gavel to Tyson, I want to thank Missi and Nikki at the Palm City Chamber of Commerce for their hard work and dedication to the Chamber and for keeping me in line as I served as your President.
The turnout for our Palm City Chamber of Commerce Clay shoot was amazing!!  Everyone had a wonderful time at the South Florida Shooting Club.  The food, drinks, raffle items and weather were absolutely perfect.  I am excited to say that we will be having another Cow Plop Bingo. Our 2nd Annual Cow Plop Bingo will be on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Rockin H Ranch in Palm City.  Sponsorships and your chance to win $1,000.00 are available y contacting the Chamber at 772-286-8121.  All you need to do is buy a “land parcel” and cheer for the cow to “plop” in your marked-out land parcel within the arena. And you win $1,000.00!!!  The Tom Jackson Band will be performing and there will be a Children’s area and Food Trucks including adult beverages.  The cost for this event is $10 per vehicle.
These events are fun for all different ages so please go and enjoy one or all of the events with your family and friends.  For additional information on upcoming events please contact Missi or Nikki at the Palm City Chamber of Commerce, our website www.palmcitychamber.com or follow us on Facebook.

September Updates

Hurricane season will hit its peak as we go into September and we all need to have our hurricane plan in place in case one comes towards us. We have been very fortunate to not have a hurricane so far but please do not let your guard down. The Palm City Chamber of Commerce has many outstanding members that can assist you during the hurricane season from insurance to impact windows and everything in between for your home and business. Please take a close look at our membership directory for your needs!

We are still in a pandemic so please be cautious of others by maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask to help you and the others that are around you. We, as a Chamber, are practicing this at our breakfast meetings and other events. Our Martin County Commissioners are working diligently to help us get through this pandemic. Thank you to our commissioners and citizens for respectfully working together to keep Martin County on the right track.

The Palm City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has decided to cancel Fall Fest this year due to the pandemic. However, I am honored to say that we have a list of exciting events planned out which include: Golf tournament on October 10, Clay Shoot on January 23, Installation Gala on February 6, and our Cow Plop on February 28. We are planning to bring the outdoor drive-in movies back this fall as well. We are here for our community and we are looking forward to seeing all of you real soon at one or all of our events!

July Updates

August looks to be a time for new and interesting situations in our close-knit community.  School will be starting in a whole different manner.  Masks have been worn all over Martin County following a county mandate.  Hurricane season is upon us.  Yet, the strength of our community and the Palm City Chamber continues to shine through.
We had our first Networking Breakfast in 5 months on July 29th.  We were honored to have two guest speakers, Joan Goodrich with the Business Development Board and Angela Hoffman with Boys and Girls Clubs of Martin County.  Our members wore their masks and social distanced thanks to the dedication of the staff at Monarch Country Club.
The Palm City Chamber looks forward to many more events including our 25th Annual Golf Tournament on October 10th at Martin Downs Country Club.  We also have a Clay Shoot scheduled for January 23rd, our Installation Gala on February 6th, and Cow Plop Bingo February 28th.
We hope that you will continue to support the Palm City Chamber as we do our best to support YOU, our community and local businesses.

June Update

Do not let the Coronavirus get you down and out!
The Palm City Chamber of Commerce was not about to let the Coronavirus keep us down and out. We had some amazing drive-in movies recently! As we were moving into phase 1, a night out at a drive-in movie is what we all needed. With a huge blow up screen and support from our sponsors, we were able to host a few spectacular movie nights for the entire family. This gave our Chamber an opportunity to support the businesses in the plaza where our office is located and provide a fun family event for the community as well as Chamber members. Moving forward, with high hopes of getting back to what the Chamber does best, supporting our business community with networking events and fun events, we will come out of this pandemic as a tighter group! Looking onto future events, we have the Golf Tournament on October 10th at Martin Downs Country Club, a Clay Shoot at South Florida Shooting Club, Cow Plop on February 28th at Rockin H Ranch, and a Casino Night at the South Florida Shooting Club to name a few of the events. Keep checking the Palm City Chamber’s Facebook page and the website to see the calendar of events being planned. A special shout out to Missi and Nikki for being the backbone of our Chamber during this pandemic. These two ladies have rocked it for your Palm City Chamber. Looking forward to getting out and seeing the magnificent people of our Chamber real soon at our next scheduled events. We, as a community, will beat this pandemic and come out shining!

April Update

The Palm City Chamber realizes that these are unique times and we are all doing our best to keep “business as usual” even with the precautions necessary to keep our community members safe and healthy.  Please continue to stay informed and our website has links to assist you with this process.  We will continue to update and promote Palm City Chamber members through email and Facebook.
The Palm City Chamber of Commerce held its 41st Annual Installation Gala February 1st at Piper’s Landing which was a masquerade theme. If you missed this awesome event, you can go to the Palm City Chamber website and see all the fun masquerades worn by those attending. Next year’s installation will be a blast, so do not miss it! I was honored to be installed as your president for 2020 and I am looking for an amazing year! Speaking of the Palm City Chamber’s website, check it out! There you will find all the upcoming events that are scheduled. We need your support at each one of the events and volunteers are always needed!
We had our first ever Cow Plop Bingo on Sunday, February 23rd, at the Rockin H Ranch in Palm City.  It was filled with food trucks, the Tom Jackson Band, children area, and an arena marked off in small land parcels for the cow to take a plop.  The lucky winner was Ryan DiNunzio who took home $3,000 just by the cow placing a plop within his purchased land parcel. This event was open to the public and it was rockin!  We are already looking forward to next year’s event which will be bigger and even better than this year’s event.
I encourage and challenge each one of you to bring a guest to the next event and have them join our chamber, members do business with members!

November is a time for thankfulness and reflection.  Thankfulness, by definition, is being conscious of the benefit received.  We, the residents of Palm City, have so much to be thankful for in our community.  The proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and intracoastal waterways, give us numerous recreational activities and picturesque views.  The weather allows us the opportunity to enjoy our locale year-round.  The variety of parks, sports related and natural, provide countless ways to get out and enjoy our surroundings.  Continue Reading Here...

We all realize how fortunate we were to escape the wrath of Dorian; and now we are assisting our neighbors in the Bahamas.  The citizens of Palm City and Martin County have donated “literally” tons of supplies and countless hours of community service to help with the rebuilding of the beautiful islands of the Bahamas.  It is amazing, but not surprising, to see all members of our society working together for the common good.  Continue Reading Here...
